I AM ALL EARS

Papa is useless. I had told you that some months ago. It took a reminder from a friend of papa’s to make sure that he came to me for a dictation for my blog. Don’t blame him a lot though. He has not written for his blog for one year, you know. Time. That is the problem.

I am sure you realise that I have become big. I am eight months old now, but I have not changed as a person. I still sleep with papa and mom, and let me tell you why. Papa hasn’t bought me a new bed while I don’t fit in the old one. Actually, I don’t want a different bed anyway. (I cracked a joke. You must understand why. Papa is putting up my blog after a long time. So I am happy).

I don’t get toys made of plastic any longer. I chew them up, and swallow parts of them which both papa and mom don’t like at all. They say I might get an upset tummy. My bad luck. But then, I am to be blamed too. Why can’t I resist munching on them for meals between meals?

When I go on a drive these days, I often fall from the seat because I have become big. So, papa holds me tightly to make sure that I don’t get hurt. Meanwhile, my ears have become so big that they drown in my bowl when I eat. So, they need to be washed after every meal. Papa also washes my face every day. I don’t know why though.

Since mum’s routine has changed and she comes back late at night, I sit with papa when he reads a book or does some work. Then, we play for a while. After mum gets back, I run after her all around the flat, at times, on my two little feet. When both papa and mum go to sleep, I lie next to them without troubling them too much. You see, I don’t have office. But they do. And, what good is a son if he doesn’t understand?
