MEET MY PAPA

You might know that dad had made me a national celebrity by writing an article on me. He loves me a lot too and, at night, I enjoying sleeping with him and mom. Two days back, something funny happened. Mom took a picture when dad and I were sleeping. Both of us had no clue.

In the morning, mom showed the picture to dad. I liked it also. So I asked him to put it up in my blog. Why did I ask him and not do it myself? These technical things, I tell you…Woof!

MEET MY MUM

You have heard of my mother. I love her very much. So I don’t like the fact that she comes back so late after work. But, what to do? Most of what she earns is spent on me, at least, quite a lot of it anyway. So I cannot afford to crib and expect the best things in life. Besides, I sleep with her – and dad – every night. That’s so cool.

As you know, I like to watch TV show on animals. This picture with my mum was taken when I was watching a show. These days, dad has bought me a new kind of biscuit so that I don’t have tummy upset ever. I like to have them sometime between lunch and dinner. Tastes good, must say!

What else can I tell you? Among other things, I am having festival prasad every day. Dad gives me a solid head massage every day after he gets back from work. When the night draws nearer, I wait for him. Told you why, didn’t I?

I AM ALL EARS

Papa is useless. I had told you that some months ago. It took a reminder from a friend of papa’s to make sure that he came to me for a dictation for my blog. Don’t blame him a lot though. He has not written for his blog for one year, you know. Time. That is the problem.

I am sure you realise that I have become big. I am eight months old now, but I have not changed as a person. I still sleep with papa and mom, and let me tell you why. Papa hasn’t bought me a new bed while I don’t fit in the old one. Actually, I don’t want a different bed anyway. (I cracked a joke. You must understand why. Papa is putting up my blog after a long time. So I am happy).

I don’t get toys made of plastic any longer. I chew them up, and swallow parts of them which both papa and mom don’t like at all. They say I might get an upset tummy. My bad luck. But then, I am to be blamed too. Why can’t I resist munching on them for meals between meals?

When I go on a drive these days, I often fall from the seat because I have become big. So, papa holds me tightly to make sure that I don’t get hurt. Meanwhile, my ears have become so big that they drown in my bowl when I eat. So, they need to be washed after every meal. Papa also washes my face every day. I don’t know why though.

Since mum’s routine has changed and she comes back late at night, I sit with papa when he reads a book or does some work. Then, we play for a while. After mum gets back, I run after her all around the flat, at times, on my two little feet. When both papa and mum go to sleep, I lie next to them without troubling them too much. You see, I don’t have office. But they do. And, what good is a son if he doesn’t understand?

I AM FAMOUS!

My papa wrote an article on how good I am. It was published in the newspaper where papa works. So I guess he writes okay and, more importantly, I am famous now.
By the way, Pune is very hot these days. So I have been having sugar-free ice cream and cold milk every evening. When I go off to rest after finishing it, it feels so cool!
I would also like to share one of my decisions with you. I have decided to wake up papa in the morning daily. In fact, I stand on his stomach and keep on kissing him till he has no choice but to leave the bed. Come to think of it. Why should he sleep after I am through with my breakfast? He needs to change!

LIFE DURING CRICKET

I have been watching some cricket these days. Every day when papa comes back, he sits with a book (the fat thing he looks at is called a book) and watches the sport on TV at the same time! I don’t know if he enjoys both fully. But that is what he does.

I stay with my attendant after papa goes to work. She cannot play with me. So it is very boring. But papa has been trying to compensate by buying me new toys every second day. He got me a red pillow recently. I think I am supposed to sleep on that, but I love playing with it even more. Can’t tear it though!

By the way, the good news is that mum is coming tonight. I don’t know what she has got for me. But I am sure she must have bought something. Am waiting for her to come back. At least I can go to sleep early since she doesn’t stay awake till late like dad does! (Biswadeep says: Burp, who watches the matches with me?)

OF MUM, AND BISCUITS

I have been away for a while. But, what to do? Too many things happening. Mum has gone to meet her mum at her hometown. I have been busy getting used to a new full-time attendant who looks after my needs. Also had a slight tummy upset for a couple of days. So I was not in the mood to dictate my blog.

These days, my favourite sitting place is the lounge in the living room. Dad keeps on looking at some thing (Biswadeep says: a book) for two hours, even more, while I play with my toys next to him. At night, I go to sleep with him in the bedroom. Have been using mummy’s pillow since she is not around. It smells of her.

Recently, dad has been feeding me a new kind of biscuit that he too eats. It is awesome! I have been also trying to figure out how a lot of cold air gushes out of a big box. I don’t know what it is. But it feels good.

Dad came home a little while ago. I will get my evening snack very soon. What will I eat today? Your guess is as good as mine!

TEETHING TROUBLE

There has been a change in my life lately. I have discovered that Shower to Shower talcum powder smells good. So everyday after dad takes a bath, I run after him and make sure that he rubs some powder on my body too. Dad also sprays something on his body which smells really nice but looks like water. But he does not spray that on me because mum says it will spoil my hair.
Today morning I went off to sleep with my parents at two in the night. Actually I had slept on my bed, but I realised I wasn't too comfortable there. So I woke up and went off to sleep with them. After I got up all fresh, I started to play with my dad when he was half asleep. I used his hand as a teether, and kept on biting like I normally do. Dad deserves it. Even now I haven't got a gift. And, it has been six days since they bought me my last one. Woah, such a long time!

I LOVE CHICKEN THE WAY MUM COOKS IT!

You guys know I love Chocos. And milk is so yummy! But I really like it when mum, dad and I have the same food at the same time! Yesterday, all of us had plain chicken curry and rice for dinner. This was after the three of us had snacked on watermelon.I sat on my dad's lap, and he fed me small pieces because the large ones slip out of my mouth. My teeth is still growing, hence I can't keep the big pieces inside very often.
The weather has become warm, and I don't enjoy plain water. So, both my parents mix cold water with regular water in my bowl which I drink heartily. Dad gave me a little Coke yesterday. Chilled Coke. He is stupid since I have given enough indications that I don't like it all.
It's been a while since I got any gift from my parents. I think they realise it too!

MIRROR, MIRROR, WHAT DO YOU DO?

A few days back, I finished breakfasting on Chocos and milk - have no idea how humans can eat 'plain' corn flakes...yuck! - before climbing on to the bed on which I sleep with mum and dad. Most casually, I decided to stand on my hind paws while holding on to the bed's backrest with my front paws. That is when I saw what my parents refer to as the 'mirror'. I was surprised to see someone who stood the way I did, staring back at me. I barked in astonishment, and the guy in front of me did the same without making any noise. I nodded my head, and so did that fellow.
Did I see myself? Is that why mum and dad spend time in front of it, more particularly, mum? When I figure that out, I will let you know. In the meantime, let me get back to my new toy!
